Cane–C

Cane-C is an orientation aid for visually impaired people. By means of sensors, the environment, obstacles and the user’s position are detected.

Among other things, the system extends the free movement with two ultrasound output areas on the surface of the device. This makes it possible to partially compensate for the deficit caused by scanning the surroundings with a cane.

Sensed obstacles can be detected immediately before a collision and the user can avoid the obstacles.
